The TV lights up the room at one o' clock in the morning. Jake is in the tent next to me and Madison is sleeping in her room. If you haven't caught on yet, we're having a sleepover. Whenever I sleep over, Jake and I camp out... In his living room.
Madison and Jake have these tents that are box-shaped and have holes on each side for an entrance. The tents can connect together, lining up the hole entrances. So Jake and I lay down next to the holes connected so we can talk throughout the night. So we can actually get some sleep, we drape blankets over the tents to keep warmth in and lights out.
I'm just laying down in my tent, watching TV, wondering if Jake is still awake. Earlier, his parents walked into the living room, so we had to pretend to be asleep.
As if reading my mind, Jake's head pops into my tent and his voice is a whisper. "Lexi? You awake?"
I smile. "As you can see, I still am."
"I need to tell you something." He says as he crawls into my tent. "It's about who I like."
"Ooh!" I squeal. "Spill! Who do you like?" Usually, I know who Jake likes, but for some reason there's something different about this girl.
Jake smirks. "Sorry, still can't tell you. But, I do need your advice. I want to tell my crush that I like her, but I'm afraid she won't feel the same way." He says with a bit of desperation in his voice. "How should I tell her?"
I think about his situation for a second, then speak. "I think you should just tell her. It's okay if she doesn't like you back; You can move on, but she's gonna have to go by everyday wondering what she missed out on." Jake smiles, but it fades. I then realize I'm talking like he's already been rejected. "Although, I bet she'll feel the same way. You're a great guy, Jake. You're sweet, funny, cute, a little self-centered, but you still put others before yourself."
That brought back Jake's smile. "Okay. I'll tell you who I like." He pauses. "I like...." Jake takes a deep breath in, and his lower lip twitches as he says, "I like this girl named Sonia."
"You're lying." I accuse with a smug expression on my face.
Jake puts a small, sad smile on his face. "How can you tell?"
"Jake, I know you." I smirk. "Plus, your lower lip twitches whenever you lie."
"Okay." Jake says. "I'll tell you the truth. But don't get mad, okay?" I nod and he takes in a deep breath again. "I like you..." Jake watches me closely, trying to read my expression. At first, I'm stunned, but then I just realize that I feel the same way. "So...?"
"So... what?" I ask, confused.
"So, do you like me back?" Jake asks, a little impatient.
Like I said before, I do, but I'm not ready to tell him yet. "Can I give you my answer tomorrow?" I ask, a little scared about how he'll react.
Jack gives me a sad smile again. "Always gotta make me wait, huh?" He sighs, and crawls back into his tent.
A small pang of guilt hits me, but I brush it off and wrap myself in the blankets that cover me. As I start to fall asleep, something moves my tent. I freeze and pretend to sleep. I feel something soft on my cheek and it sends chills down my spine. I wait a few seconds, then open my eyes to see Jake's back turned to me to exit out of tent; Jake just kissed me on the cheek! I scramble out of my blankets, wrap my arms around him, and kiss Jake's cheek. "I like you back."
The End.

This is not about you .
These words are not about you.
The curves of these letters are here to imitate the shape of your spine when I have you pressed against the wall. They mock the shape of my breasts against your burning palms, the sharp prickle of your jaw resting at the base of my neck as you moan the name you could have sworn you've forgotten but it always just wiggles its way free from between your teeth.
Don't misunderstand, these words are not about you.
This is purely and solely about me and my battle between giving up and giving in. Either way, the winner turns out to be you.
I was counting crooked stars and telling you that snow feels hot to my touch

Let This Heaven Burn You
"where is your heaven?"the man spat coldly."Where is it if we can't touch it?" he snickered and coughed out those many years of cigarettes. He started puffing another pack. I hoped he choked on those embers. My eyes rested at my feet, searching for an answer to grab me, but none did. He was growing restless yet satisfied with the entangling silence, "I was right, kids so caught up in questions they give no answers." my eyes rose to see a smug expression radiating off of him like poison; he was the lost that still won. "You going to say something?" he licked his reptile lips in amusement. "Whatever." he scoffed in a tired tone. He started walk

I Need to Know Why
It's the fact that I was born on the wrong side of the world, isn't it?
It's the fact that I couldn't see the freckle in your eye like everyone else before I knew the way your words change when you think of me.
It's the fact that I want it to go back to the way it used to be, isn't it?
It's the fact that I knew of you a side you had never known would surface - a side that was only your moment of weakness.
It's the fact that I had a glitch in my brain that allowed me to feel, isn't it?
It's the fact that my stomach is replaced with a burning force of discomfort every time I think of you leaving me.
It's the fact that I don't understand
